Yoshimura R-77J Race Slip-Ons for 2011 GSX-R Models Launched - autoevolution

While Suzuki’s new 2011 GSX-R600 and 750 have begun storming dealerships across the UK and gain appreciation from the media, renown tuning house Yoshimura Japan, who has long ties with Suzuki and fittingly has announced that development of a race slip-on end-can for both machines is complete.

The new exhaust has the same appearance as the Yoshimura USA product R-77 – but will be called R-77J as it is made in Japan.

Both Stainless Steel End Cap and Carbon End Cap versions will be available in three sleeve versions, namely Stainless, Titanium and Metal Magic.

The initial production of the R-77J from Yoshimura Japan will be a ‘race’ version only, without EEC marking, but will however include a low volume insert for decibel reduction. The EEC testing process has yet to take place.

The Yoshimura R-77J Suzuki GSX-R600/750L1 race cans will shortly be in stock at Yoshimura’s UK importer, Phoenix.

The 2011 Suzuki GSX-R600 and 2011 Suzuki GSX-R750 not only get a facelift, but also a revised engine package and ample weight trimmings. While the new Suzuki GSX-R600 & GSX-R750?s won’t offer more power than the 2010 models, the revised motor and other components mean that the models are roughly 20lbs (9 kg) lighter. To be more precise the 2011 Suzuki GSX-R600 is now 413 pounds (187,8 kg) heavy, while the 2011 Suzuki GSX-R750 is 416lb (188,6 kg).
